A Reeve
In Anglo-Saxon England, the reeve was basically the mayor of a village. The reeve would be older and have the responsibility to be the overseer of the peasants. The reeve was still considered lower rank but, the most important man in the village.

The reeve was one of the three main officials who ran a manor. The reeve was a serf who was selected by the other villagers. They were from more well off families. Reeves were paid with benefits, not money meaning they didn't have to do any physical labor for the lord. The job of the reeve was unpopular because it could get very difficult.
